For version 2.0+ 

  • First off, make sure you have installed Fanjita & Ditlew's eBoot loader. The EBOOT loader currently works on v2.0 - v2.6 firmware only. For v2.01 - v2.6, you will need to own the Grand Theft Auto UMD, as the eLoader uses the savegame exploit in that game to run.
  •  Next, unzip the release you want to install in your \PSP\GAME directory, overwriting any old version that could already be there.
  • You should have two directories: One named NetHackPSP and one named NetHackPSP%
  • To be able to save, make sure there is a subdirectory SAVE under your NetHackPSP directory. PSP\GAME\NetHackPSP\save\
  • You can edit the .nethackrc file to suit your needs if there is some default options you want to change.
  • Enjoy!

For version 1.5

  • Simply unzip the release you want to install in your \PSP\GAME directory, overwriting any old version that could already be there.
